I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, a little bit of paint goes a long way! Painting your front door, back door, and shutters is something fun you can do to scratch that painting itch. This is a small change you can do to your house that will really make it look different without doing something drastic. Now let’s talk about what some different colors mean when it comes to painting, well what it means on your front of the door at least.
- A RED front door in India usually means it’s the home of newlyweds. In Scotland, a red front door can mean a mortgage that your has been paid off.In China, the color red is a color of happiness, but also in ancient China, there was a strict building code saying that only government officials of a specific rank or those with high social status could paint their house door red, so, a house with a red door represented the rich and noble class.
- A BLUE front door can mean calmness and can give off a vibe that you are trustworthy.
- What about GREEN? I think this looks particularly pleasing of front doors. In Britain green is one of the best-selling front door colors. Its peaceful and can mean prosperity and wealth (of course, got to get the green).
- How about BLACK. Black gives off a tone of seriousness and is very modern. It can make your house also appear safer.
- Let us talk about BROWN, this is a safe and boring color if you pick the wrong hue of brown. A dark brown is reliable and can be pretty exciting.
I could go on and list all the colors of the rainbow but I think you get the gist of it. Colors have a deeper meaning than most people think, and what I think is that we should spend a little more time when choosing them. At the end of the day though, make sure you go with a color you can live with (literally), it matches and it’s aesthetically pleasing.
